Jim Carson and Doc Fribush

Clarinetist Doc Fribush and guitarist Jim Carson play swing jazz music from the 1930's and '40's. Their repertoire draws from the traditional New Orleans jazz of Sidney Bechet, big band standards from Benny Goodman and Jack Teagarden and the music of the European gypsy jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt.

Doc Fribush has been performing swing music for over three decades. His long stint with the popular Greensboro-based "Swamp Cats" laid the foundation for his current repertoire. His clarinet solos are influenced by the great soloists of swing and jazz.

Jim Carson has been playing dance music with blues and jazz bands including Martha and the Moodswingers and currently the gypsy jazz ensemble, The Minor Swing Band.
